The Gypsy Sons @ The State Theatre
Last Saturday night I had the chance to shoot The Gypsy Sons @ The State Theatre in Falls Church. I had never shot at that venue before but have heard it is really nice. Was I told right.
The Gypsy Sons opened for a true icon in rockand blues music Johnny Winter and I am sure the fans that braved the first snow storm of 2009 were not disappointed with TGS.
TGS started rocking right around 9pm and I have to say for a band to not have a sound check and just plug-n-play they sounded AWESOME. They rocked the crowed for close to an hour and I am sure that they left there with quite a few new fans.
I will be uploading images tonight but stay tuned as I will be hopefully shooting them more.
Trigger Pull @ Champion Billiards
Champion Billiards in Arlington is becoming quite the little venue for local bands. They have remodeled to create a stage, dance area and tables that is going to make this one of the choice venues in Arlington.
Trigger Pull played there on October 30 and I was impressed, not just with the venue but with the “NEW” Trigger Pull. They played two sets of about 12-15 songs a set and rocked until closing time. They played all the covers that make you cut a rug and order another beer.
I had a great night shooting the guys from Trigger Pull and got to listen to some great music doing it.
Thanks for having me out guys and I look forward to the next show.

Karma Issue at Ri-Ra
This past Saturday I shot a local band named Karma Issue at RiRa in Arlington. I must say this is one of the hottest local bands I have seen in a while. The night was packed with covers and originals that kept the crowd dancing and singing along. No worries though there was plenty enough time for Oren to toast everyone several times throughout the night.
Stay tuned for pictures from the evening.
Valhalla 10 Collision
Valhalla Fights brought a packed card to the Dulles Sportsplex on Saturday night. The doors opened at 6 and the fights were scheduled to start at 7. With the amount of people that showed up the fights had to start a little late. That was no problem there were plenty of vendors on hand including Chokem, the US Air Force several others and the band The Gypsy Sons.
Once the fights started it was on!!! From the first round of Mike Butler who defeted Marcus McCain with an arm-bar to the 19th and final fight of the night Caleb Ball who won the Valhalla 170lb title over Tyler Hopkins with a TKO in the second due to elbows. The night was packed.
I will have images up shortly so stay tuned!

Boxing at the Winchester Sportsplex
Last night was a great night of boxing at the Winchester Sportsplex thanks to Left Hook Promotions, No Offseason Wear and LA Boxing.
The card was packed with 6 action packed bouts. Fighters from all over the world entered the ring including Mongolia, Nigeria and states from Michigan, North & South Carolina, Maryland and of course Virginia!
The night started out with Justin Ridgway’s pro boxing debut against Calvin Aughtry. The fight was a 4 rounder that went the distance. Ridgway won a unanimous decision for his first pro win. The next fight was Danny Shull from Lancaster, VA and Abashi Adbloyt pro debut from Nigeria. This was another 4 rounder that went the distance with Danny pulling a unanimous decision on the cards to send him to 1-5-0. Next fight up was Scott Hossaflook and John Stewart. Scott edged out another unanimous decision after 4 rounds to give him his first win. Next for the evening was John Haggler vs. Benito Fernandez. Haggler KO’d Fernandez in the second round to boost his record to 19-3-0. Next on the card for the evening was Warren Clatterbuck vs. Dave Spercher. This was the co-main event. This fight was action packed from Round 1 till the final bell rang in round 6. Clatterbuck pulled out the decision to boost him to an undefeated 8-0-0. The main event was scheduled for 8 rounds. “The Mongolian Mongoose” Bayan Jargal vs Reggie Nash (9-21-1). Mongoose KO’d Nash in the 3rd round to improve his record to 11-0-1.
Winchester Sportsplex is a great venue and I look forward to shooting more fights there. I am currently editing over 1000 pictures that I took last night so keep checking.

MMA in the Valley XV
Once again Squared Circle Promotions put on a night of fights that was worth the trip. The night was packed with ten fights two of which were title fights and two exhibitions.
The first three fights of the night did not make it out of the first round and were fast pasted hard hitting fights. The action all night was so fast pasted I did not have time to keep track of all the wins and losses, but the pictures will tell the story.

Trigger Pull @ Cafe Asia
So last night I shot a new band called “Trigger Pull”. It was thier first time together as a band and were playing a venue that was hosting its first band performance. My contact with the band was thier bassist Leo, who is one of Arlington County Finest. Once he introduced me to the band, they are all ACPD. Now, dont let that distract you, these guys still rock.
Being that it was thier first time rockin on a stage together, there were the normal issues like blowing fuses for the lights. The sound never stopped and playing in the dark did not scare these guys. At the end of the 2 sets they came back for one more song just to please the crowd.
If you were there than you know these guys are going to be good. The pics are coming soon, stay tuned.
KleptoRadio @ Auld Shebeen ~ 08-15-2008
Well I have to admit this was the first time I have seen this band together. I do know the bass player from his previous band but other than that this was going to be a first impression. I have to say, I was not disappointed at all. KleptoRadio knows how to get the venue rocking.
This is a WPSimpleViewerGallery
The first set started at 11:00pm or there close to it, from the first song till the last one at 1:30am, I could not stop singing along. High energy is an understatement. I can not wait till the next time I get to see and shoot these guys. They rock and they draw an awesome crowd.
